When you build with us, you’re building with locals who deeply care about this community.
O’Neill Homes was founded in 1993 by Skip O’Neill, a Michigander-turned-Oregonian who has spent his life building things. He grew up with his father in the building industry and started his career right out of college working at a construction materials company. Skip took a break from construction in the 1980s to build something else—a successful computer business—and sold that company in 1992 to return to his creative love of building homes.
Skip O’Neill
Skip and his wife Lynda have a deep connection to the Portland region, having called the area home for the past 40 years. This is where they raised their three daughters, Lauren, Katie and Kelly. Where Skip sat on the Lake Oswego City Counsel for nine years and acted as Board President for two. Where he has coached lacrosse and soccer and fundraised for schools and the arts. When you build with O’Neill, you are building with someone who cares about the fabric of your community.
Mikey O’Neill
Mikey O’Neill (yes, same last name!?), Skip’s son-in-law, joined the crew in 2021. A good natured Brit, Mikey spent the last two decades building complex start up businesses, whose success relied upon his exceedingly detailed nature. With a sharp eye for aesthetics and deep experience with mid century remodeling, Mikey is a wonderful addition to the team.
Community and friendships matter. Building for you matters—with an eye towards your dream and the greatest value possible. Making sure you enjoy your building process and your completed home matters. For some, building a home or doing a remodel can be stressful, but it doesn’t have to be. Skip is calm. Skip is caring. Skip is flexible. Skip is confident that he and his teams of longtime, trusted subs can creatively approach any project and succeed beautifully—on time and on budget. Let’s build something together and make the building process enjoyable, from start to finish.
